Founder

Phil builds the books he is willing to sit with.

0rbit is a one-founder futures desk. The work is the systems, the backtester, and the live path — written with AI as a coding partner, shipped only when the fills are honest.

The desk

Phil designs and owns the systematic books. He writes the research, freezes the locks, and sends the executing broker what it needs to auto-trade. He does not host customer accounts and does not hand out a rule sheet.

The public names — Recoil, Ricochet, Russell Swing, Nasdaq Swing, WTI Swing — are leases.

Size is the customer’s. The fee is set with the desk. Month-to-month.

If it is not accurate, do not ship it. That is the whole culture of the platform. A prettier equity curve from a stop that could not have filled is not research. It is a marketing problem waiting for a live day.

The rule
AI in his work

Phil uses AI to code trading systems: to walk ideas, write tests, keep the live seat aligned with the engine, and kill books that only work on a kind fill. The judgment stays human — which tape counts, which spec is frozen, which number is allowed on a page.

That is how a founder ships both the systems and the proprietary backtester without a twenty-person tech team. Speed is not an excuse to relax the fill.
